We are currently representing a top-tier main contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering some of the UK’s most prestigious and technically challenging building projects. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, we are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager with a proven background in building construction to join their delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who wants to work for a business that is recognised for quality, innovation, career development and delivering complex projects to an exceptionally high standard.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of a designated area of the project, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, to programme and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team, taking ownership of site operations and coordinating subcontractors, trades and suppliers throughout the build.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing day-to-day site operations and construction activities
  • Leading and coordinating subcontractors and specialist trades
  • Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with programme and project requirements
  • Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
  • Driving quality and ensuring works are completed to specification
  • Planning and coordinating labour, materials, plant and logistics
  • Monitoring progress and reporting against programme
  • Working closely with the commercial, design and project management teams
  • Attending site meetings and coordinating works with key stakeholders
  • Identifying and resolving construction issues before they impact programme or quality
  • Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and the client

About You

We are looking for a proven Building Site Manager who has experience working on sizeable and complex construction projects. You will ideally have:

  • Strong experience within building construction
  • A proven track record working for a main contractor
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
  • Strong technical construction knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of health & safety and quality requirements
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
  • Strong programme and sequencing awareness
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
  • Relevant construction qualifications, including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid
