Our client, a leading regional contractor with an established portfolio of public-sector and community developments, is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee the construction of a £3 million new-build leisure centre in the Leeds Area. This role offers the opportunity to take day-to-day control of a flagship community project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site operations from groundworks through to completion and handover.

The Role

  • Manage all on-site construction activities for the new-build leisure centre.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labour.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme requirements.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance.
  • Conduct daily site briefings, toolbox talks, and coordination meetings.
  • Monitor progress and report regularly to the Project Manager.
  • Manage site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce planning.
  • Ensure inspections, quality checks, and snagging activities are completed effectively.
  • Resolve technical and operational issues as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate site records, diaries, permits, and documentation.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager or Site Manager on new-build construction projects.
  • Experience delivering projects valued between £2 million and £10 million.
  • Previous experience within leisure, education, healthcare, commercial, or public-sector projects is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and site management processes.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary site teams and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong focus on health, safety, and quality standards.
