Our client, a leading regional building contractor, is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a £20 million industrial development in Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware and delivery-focused construction professional to take ownership of a significant industrial project from commencement through to completion. The successful candidate will join a well-respected contractor with a strong pipeline of work across the North West and a reputation for quality, repeat business, and employee development.
The Role
Reporting to an Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project. Ensuring all work is completed safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead the site management team, coordinate subcontractors and consultants, manage client relationships, and drive project performance throughout all phases of construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall management of a £20m industrial construction project.
- Lead and motivate the site-based delivery team.
- Develop, manage, and monitor construction programmes.
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements.
- Manage subcontractor performance and site logistics.
- Chair client, design, and progress meetings.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Work closely with commercial teams to manage budgets, variations, and procurement activities.
- Produce accurate project reports for senior management.
- Maintain excellent client relationships and ensure successful project handover.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing projects valued between £10m and £30m as a Project Manager for a main contractor.
- Strong background in industrial, logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or large commercial schemes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and programme management.
- Commercial awareness and experience working alongside quantity surveying teams.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain client confidence.
- Relevant construction qualification (Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification.
