Assistant Build Manager – Freelance to Permanent Sheffield Competitive Day Rate The Company Our client is a well-established main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. They are about to commence a major refurbishment and new build scheme in Sheffield and are looking to appoint an Assistant Build Manager to strengthen their site team. The Role This is an exciting opportunity to join a flagship project from the early stages. Starting on a freelance/day-rate basis, the role has a strong likelihood of transitioning into a permanent position for the right candidate. As Assistant Build Manager, you will support the senior site management team to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities * Assist the Build/Project Manager in day-to-day site operations. * Supervise subcontractors and site staff, ensuring health & safety compliance. * Monitor progress against programme and report on key milestones. * Support with site logistics, coordination, and quality control. * Contribute to client, subcontractor, and progress meetings. The Candidate * Previous experience working with a main contractor on refurbishment and/or new build projects. * Knowledge of modern construction methods and building regulations. * Strong organisational and communication skills. * Able to liaise effectively with subcontractors, consultants, and the client team. * CSCS card required; SMSTS/SSSTS and First Aid desirable.
