Skills, Experience, and Education Required:
- Experience as an Operations Manager
- Experienced man management skills
- H&S Experience – IOSH minimum qualification
- Experience working within ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001
- Clear understanding of delivering performance to major customers
- Ability to benchmark, identify pinch-points and improve processes
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your team
- Effective leadership and delegation skills
- IT literate with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems
- Good attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality
- Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others and link departments
As an Operations Manager, you will need to:
- Lead and manage teams, taking ownership of supporting and leading departments across the sites
- Oversee all aspects of logistics including UK Parcel freight, haulage and exporting, liaising with key external and internal stakeholders
- Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget, meeting KPI’s and quality standards
- Work with other department managers to implement company policies, meet agreed service levels and company goals
- Set KPI’s for all Warehouse departments and ensure they are met and exceeded
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to across all sites
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all three sites
- Manage and attend H&S meetings with Training and Maintenance Manager, reviewing actions raised to ensure compliance
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all sites meet required standards
- Perform general housekeeping duties and oversee all operational equipment
- Continually review processes to ensure improvements are made when and where required
- Manage FLT fleets across all sites and specify future equipment requirements
- Manage HGV’s, trailers and drivers ensuring road worthiness in line with DVLA policies
- Provide monthly reporting to the Director of Operation & Logistics
