Contracts Manager Banbury, Oxfordshire Reports to: Roofing General Manager Location: Banbury, with travel to project sites as required Employment type: Full-time, permanent Role Purpose We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to take ownership of industrial roofing, building construction and improvement projects from pre-start through to final account. Based in Banbury, the role will ensure that multiple contracts are delivered safely, profitably, on programme and to the required quality standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities * Manage a portfolio of industrial roofing, refurbishment, construction and building improvement contracts from award to completion. * Review contract documents, specifications, drawings, surveys, programmes and commercial requirements before mobilisation. * Develop project delivery plans, construction programmes, procurement schedules and resource requirements. * Coordinate site managers, supervisors, operatives, subcontractors, designers, suppliers and specialist consultants. * Ensure works comply with health and safety legislation, CDM requirements, company procedures, risk assessments and method statements. * Monitor programme, cost, quality and productivity; identify risks early and implement corrective action. * Control budgets, variations, valuations, applications for payment, subcontract accounts and final accounts in conjunction with the commercial team. * Lead client progress meetings and provide clear, accurate reporting on performance, forecasts, risks and outstanding decisions. * Oversee quality assurance, inspections, testing, snagging, handover documentation, warranties and defects management. * Support estimating and pre-construction activity through surveys, buildability reviews, programme input and supply-chain engagement. * Promote high standards of customer service and develop repeat-business opportunities. * Ensure accurate project records are maintained, including instructions, change control, correspondence, site reports and statutory documentation. Experience and Knowledge * Proven Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager experience within industrial roofing and building construction or improvement works. * Strong technical knowledge of industrial roofing systems, including metal cladding, composite panels, built-up systems, flat roofing, insulation, rooflights, waterproofing, refurbishment and remedial works. * Experience delivering projects in live or occupied industrial and commercial environments, with effective control of access, logistics, sequencing and business-continuity risks. * Good understanding of general building works, refurbishment, fabric repairs, structural interfaces, drainage and associated mechanical or electrical coordination. * Demonstrable experience managing multiple concurrent projects, site teams and specialist subcontractors. * Sound commercial awareness, including contract administration, change control, cost reporting and margin protection. * Working knowledge of standard construction contracts and relevant UK health, safety and building regulations. * Confident user of Microsoft Office and project-planning or contract-management systems. Qualifications and Requirements * Relevant construction qualification such as HNC, HND, degree or NVQ in Construction Management, Building, Roofing or a related discipline is desirable. * SMSTS is essential. * CSCS Managers and Professionals card is essential. * Sound knowledge of Health and Safety regulations * Asbestos , working at height * Relevant professional membership, such as CIOB or IOR, is advantageous. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
