We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Plater to work within a structural steel fabrication workshop supporting offsite construction projects. The role involves welding and assembling large steel beams and components, with regular use of overhead cranes to move heavy materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG welding on structural steel components
- Fabricate and assemble large beams and steel sections
- Read and work from engineering drawings
- Prepare materials, including cutting, grinding, and fitting
- Operate overhead cranes to safely move large and heavy steel beams
- Ensure all welds meet quality and structural standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Requirements
- Proven experience in MIG welding (structural steel preferred)
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Experience working with heavy steel sections and beams
- Overhead crane experience (essential)

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have the legal right to work in the UK
Desirable
- Previous experience in structural steel or offsite construction
- Welding qualifications (advantageous but not essential)
