Our Repair Café is run entirely by volunteers, and we’re always keen to welcome new people to the team. Whether you enjoy fixing things, chatting to people, or helping behind the scenes, there’s a role for you.
Repairers are at the heart of the Repair Café. In this role, you’ll use your practical skills to help repair everyday items and keep them in use for longer.
What you’ll do:
- Assess and repair items brought in by the public, where possible
- Explain what you’re doing and share advice with item owners
- Let people know honestly if an item can’t be repaired or needs parts
We’re particularly interested in people with skills in small electrical items, clothing and textiles, furniture and bikes — but you don’t need to know everything, and you’ll never be expected to work outside your comfort zone.
Time commitment:
First Thursday of every month, 3:00pm – 6:00pm (includes set-up and clear-down)
What you’ll get:
- Free drinks during the session
- A cooked meal for all volunteers, courtesy of The Kingswood Kitchen
- A supportive, friendly team
- Regular volunteer socials
- The chance to make a real difference in your local community
