We Are BAU Group is an established Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor delivering high-quality building services projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Document Controller to support our expanding project teams. This role is not suitable for entry-level applicants. We are looking for someone with a minimum of three years' document control experience within the construction, engineering or M&E industry.

The Role

As our Document Controller, you will be responsible for managing project documentation across multiple live projects, ensuring all information is accurate, up to date and issued in accordance with company procedures. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing project documentation from receipt through to completion.
  • Maintaining accurate document registers.
  • Issuing drawings, specifications and technical documents.
  • Managing document revisions and version control.
  • Ensuring superseded documents are removed from circulation.
  • Liaising with Project Managers, clients, consultants and subcontractors.
  • Managing document workflows through approval processes.
  • Producing project handover documentation and O&M manuals.
  • Supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

Essential Requirements

Please only apply if you meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Document Controller.
  • Previous experience within the construction, engineering or M&E industry is essential.
  • Experience using document management systems such as Viewpoint, Procure, Asite, Aconex, SharePoint or similar.
  • Excellent understanding of document control procedures, drawing revisions and version control.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience producing O&M Manuals.
  • Experience working for an M&E contractor or main contractor.
  • Knowledge of construction project documentation and handover procedures.
