Working Pattern

Our client is offering an excellent entry-level position for an aspiring finance professional looking to build a long-term career.
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the daily operations of the finance department, focus closely on managing money going into and out of the business.
This position is designed for long-term career growth, with our client fully committed to supporting your professional development.
From day one, you will gain hands‑on, practical experience across all aspects of basic business accounting while receiving direct guidance and mentorship from qualified finance professionals.
To help you achieve your long‑term career goals, our client will also provide tailored financial backing and study support towards professional accounting qualifications, such as the AAT, ACCA, or CIMA.
We are looking for people who are keen to advance their education and professional development through on‑the‑job training and fully funded qualifications.
The Role
- Review and input incoming supplier invoices accurately into the system.
- Check that invoices match purchase orders and resolve any discrepancies.
- Answer queries from suppliers regarding payments and statements.
- Help prepare electronic bank payments for approval.
- Log daily payments received from customers against their outstanding balances.
- Support credit control by contacting customers to ensure payments are made on time.
- Keep customer files and contact notes fully updated.
- Download daily bank records and update internal cash sheets.
- Open physical mail, print documents, and maintain organized files.
- Help other teams across the business with basic financial queries.
Skills we are looking for
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 5/C or above, or equivalent).
- You must either be currently studying for an accounting qualification or be eager to start studying once you join.
- Basic exposure to finance processes (this could be through your studies, a work placement, or previous office experience).
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (basic formulas and data entry).
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with total confidentiality.
- Previous experience handling customer queries or working within a busy office environment is ideal.
To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, you should bring some prior experience working in a busy commercial office environment, with a proven track record of handling customer queries or basic administrative tasks efficiently.
