We’re looking for an experienced Events & Communications Manager to lead our client’s external corporate events. This role supports their business development team, with a strong focus on raising brand awareness and reputation in the sector.
You will bring solid events management skills (with an emphasis on project coordination and logistics) from event promotion and sponsorship to developing content and collateral.
Event Responsibilities- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of our client’s monthly events programme.
- Manage event logistics (including venue bookings, creation of marketing materials, invoice processing and packing lists) to support the Business Development team in attending sector-specific exhibitions throughout the year.
- Organise internal engagement events (e.g. summer parties and other social events), including sourcing and confirming venues.
- Prepare and manage budgets for all Business Development-related events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all event-related enquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of events, providing on-the-day coordination and overseeing the event team.
- Evaluate the performance of events, gather feedback and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with the Chief Customer Officer to develop an external corporate events calendar.
- Plan events from concept through to delivery, ensuring each one is fully documented, summarised and reviewed to meet business objectives.
- Oversee the hiring of event personnel where needed (e.g. DJs, presenters, entertainment).
- Monitor and assess the success of events to drive continuous improvement — including gathering feedback from the BD team on external events, coordinating attendee feedback, and hosting monthly debrief meetings with the event team.
- Lead the communication and marketing strategies for events and projects throughout the year.
- Manage promotion of events, including sending email invitations, coordinating RSVPs, working with the Social Media Manager to create a promotional schedule, and collaborating with the BD team to ensure key contacts receive personalised invites.
- Develop and promote sponsorship opportunities, including crafting tailored sponsorship packages and securing multiple sponsors for each event.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure aligned messaging and communications.
- Create and implement marketing and communications strategies in partnership with the Head of PR & Comms.
- Collaborate with the People Team to develop internal communications plans that share business updates and news, using a range of channels and engaging formats.
- Support the People Team in enhancing their recruitment outreach by developing targeted communications for specific roles and audiences.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in event management, and communications planning and delivery, including campaign development.
- Strategic approach to planning, with strong logistical coordination and communications planning capabilities.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative, with minimal need for supervision.
- Experience in B2B marketing, particularly in driving engagement through pre- and post-event communications.
- Previous experience managing a direct report or leading team members in a similar capacity.
- Proficient in using Zoom Webinar, including hosting live sessions and generating post-event reports.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or previous experience using similar CRM platforms.
- Basic to intermediate skills in Canva, or experience using similar creative software.
- Prior experience working within an agency environment.
