ABOUT 54GROUP: 54 is a sports and entertainment agency operating across five regions and ten offices: United Kingdom (London & Manchester), Europe (Sotogrande, Spain), MENA (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), APAC (Vietnam, Singapore & Adelaide, Australia) and USA (West Palm Beach, Florida & New York). It works with rights holders, governing bodies, household brands and major investors who share its belief in the power of sport. 54 comprises three service areas each consisting of two divisions: 1. Strategic Advisory (Consultancy and Data & Insights), 2. Asset Optimisation (Operations and Commercial), 3. Activation & Engagement (Events and Marketing).

ROLE OVERVIEW: The opportunity exists for a dynamic, motivated and experienced Event Director to join the 54 team, to oversee the delivery of various events in the company’s portfolio. The Event Director will be responsible for all aspects of the event deliveries, including management of the 54 event team, rightsholder, partner and client liaison, and budget management. The desired candidate must boast extensive international event experience and understanding of the event ecosystem, its stakeholders, rightsholders and suppliers. They must boast strong personal motivation, and be comfortable working remotely and unsupervised, and have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A keen eye for detail and ability to work to tight deadlines, with excellent communication skills are essential.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Event Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead the development of the event vision, delivery strategy, and detailed execution plans and itineraries.
  • Own end-to-end event delivery, ensuring consistently high standards of planning, production, and on-site execution.
  • Manage all supplier briefs, contracts, and scopes of work, ensuring commercial and operational alignment.
  • Take full ownership of event budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the 54 event delivery team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Act as primary liaison with rights holders (Ladies European Tour / European Tour / Asian Tour / LPGA Tour), ensuring strategic and operational alignment.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure full integration of events within the wider brand and communications strategy.
  • Partner with Commercial teams to maximise sponsor value, activation quality, and revenue delivery.
  • Lead relationships with broadcasters, ensuring delivery of partner, sponsor, and stakeholder objectives.
  • Serve as senior client lead for all delivery matters, owning timelines, governance, and status reporting.
  • Chair and lead all client, rights holder, stakeholder, and internal delivery meetings, workshops, and reviews.
  • Support negotiation and delivery of host venue agreements and operational requirements.
  • Oversee player services, logistics, and negotiations, ensuring best-in-class athlete experience.
  • Client Leadership & Account Management
    • Build and maintain trusted, long-term client relationships at senior stakeholder level.
    • Lead strategic client communications, steering delivery governance, conference calls, and review meetings.
  • New Business & Business Development
    • Lead and support the development of high-quality new business pitches, proposals, and presentation decks.
    • Drive creative thinking, generating innovative, engaging, and commercially robust event concepts and platforms.
    • Provide industry intelligence and strategic insight on prospective clients, partners, and markets for 54.
    • Contribute to the design and development of new event properties, platforms, and long-term growth initiatives.
  • Reporting & Governance
    • Provide clear, concise updates to Company Directors and Executive Management on event delivery and client status.
    • Produce regular top-line summary reports for the Global Events Director.
    • Present confidently and authoritatively to staff and stakeholders in company forums and internal briefings.

    SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/APTITUDES NEEDED:

    • Experience within an account management or client services team in an agency environment.
    • Knowledge of the international sports and events industry (desirable).
    • Proven track record managing key international accounts for high-profile brands.
    • Strong understanding of brand, rights holder, and agency ecosystems.
    • Advanced experience creating compelling, tailored presentation decks and proposals.
    • Confident presenter to senior management and external clients.
    • Highly competent in updating, managing, and reporting on live projects and new business pipelines.
    • Delivery of agreed event objectives, milestones, and quality standards.
    • Team leadership and people management capability.
    • Professionalism and senior presence within the Events team.
    • Stakeholder and client relationship management.
    • Personal drive to improve individual performance and the performance of the wider Events Division.
    • Active participation in 54 company events, initiatives, and culture-building activities.
