Due to recent business growth, we’re looking for a talented experienced interior designer to join our team (minimum of 5 years' relevant UK work experience after graduating). This is a full-time role working out of our office in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Hands-on experience of retail design projects is something we’re particularly keen to find.
The role will include the following aspects:
- Generating initial concepts and ideas for retail and leisure environments – providing the necessary supporting visuals, moodboards, plans, and information to bring your designs to life.
- General research and specification of lighting, furnishings, fittings, materials, and finishes.
- Demonstrating strategic design thinking to ensure concepts are fully considered from an end-user perspective.
- Liaising with clients, confidently managing projects to deliver their expectations.
- Attending meetings on-site with contractors where necessary, ensuring the results are true to the initial creative vision.
- Creating detailed and accurate drawing packages.
- Continually looking for ways to improve how we work and operate.
- Managing and mentoring design team members to ensure our collective skills continue to develop.
What we’d like you to bring:
- Degree-level education in interior design or similar subject.
- At least 5 years of experience working in interior design in the UK after completing your degree.
- A positive ‘can-do' attitude and the ability to work collaboratively to share your ideas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an excellent command of English.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A love of teamwork, plus the confidence and self-motivation to work under your own steam when necessary.
- Proficiency in AutoCad (and the ability to develop floorplans and elevations) - ESSENTIAL.
- Sketchup (and the ability to use rendering software) - ESSENTIAL.
- Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Indesign and Photoshop) - ESSENTIAL.
- Enscape - DESIRABLE.
