Interior Designer in Manchester

WDC Spaces (part of WDC Creative) helps brands turn physical locations into high-performing retail and leisure environments. Due to some exciting new projects we’re looking for an experienced Interior Designer with proven UK retail design experience to join the team.

What is this role about?

• Work on retail and leisure projects for global and national brands.
• Join a collaborative, people-focused studio that values pace, craft and responsible design.
• Own work end-to-end, from concept to development to delivery.

What you’ll do

• Create concepts and visuals (mood boards, layouts, 3D visuals) that are customer-led and commercially smart.
• Develop buildable designs – fixtures, materials, detailing; produce co-ordinated drawing packs.
• Specify lighting, FF&E and finishes; value-engineer without losing intent.
• Liaise with clients and suppliers; run site meetings to safeguard quality, programme and budget.
• Mentor juniors and continually improve our ways of working.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and client standards; integrate sustainable choices where feasible.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years’ UK experience post-graduation in interior/retail design.
• A portfolio ideally showing retail projects (store concepts, fixture design, rollouts).
• Confident communication with clients and contractors; organised, detail-driven, calm under time pressure.
• Software skills (essential): AutoCAD, SketchUp + rendering, Adobe InDesign & Photoshop.
• Nice to have: Enscape (or similar realtime rendering).
