Location: Based at Head Office nr Taunton, field work across the southwest

Contract: Full time (45 hours per week)

With a strong reputation across commercial and public sectors, WCI Group continue to grow and are seeking a Private Water Service Engineer to join our expanding team. As a Private Water Service Engineer, you will independently complete planned and reactive maintenance, commissioning and refurbishment of private water supply systems. This includes boreholes, wells, springs, rainwater harvesting systems and associated treatment equipment. You will work directly with customers on-site, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory standards.

  • Carrying out maintenance, commissioning and refurbishment of borehole, well, spring and rainwater-derived private water systems
  • Working with pumps, motors, valves, pipework and associated mechanical components
  • Completing basic electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
  • Installing, servicing and maintaining filtration, booster sets and water treatment equipment
  • Conducting system checks, sampling and performance testing
  • Providing clear, timely updates to clients
  • Completing all documentation to a high standard
  • Travelling throughout the South West, including occasional overnight stays (typically around five nights per quarter)

Location requirement: Ideally, candidates should live within approximately 45 minutes of Wiveliscombe or be willing to relocate.

Knowledge of private water systems such as boreholes, wells, rainwater harvesting, booster sets, filtration and/or water treatment

Strong understanding of pumps, motors, pipework, valves and mechanical systems

Basic electrical skills, including fault-finding

Experience completing planned and reactive maintenance, commissioning and refurbishment of private water supply systems

Mechanical and/or electrical experience

Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

Strong customer service and problem-solving skills

Self-motivated, punctual and well organised

Willingness to travel across the South West and stay away when required

Valid UK driving licence

Enhanced DBS check

SHEA (Water) National Water Hygiene Card (Blue Card)

Salary & Benefits: This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary between £32,500 – £45,000 depending on experience and background. A company van, uniform and PPE are provided. WCI also offer a well-rounded benefits package after probation, including:
