Weston County Health Services (WCHS) is seeking a dynamic Director of Long‑Term Care to lead our Manor team, elevate resident care, and support our dedicated employees who make a daily difference in the lives of our community.
About the Role
As the Director of Long‑Term Care, you will guide the overall operations of our Manor facility, ensuring exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, and a positive, supportive work culture. Your leadership will shape the experience of residents, families, and staff alike. This position plays a key strategic role in service excellence, employee development, quality improvement, and operational efficiency. This is a full‑time, exempt leadership position reporting directly to the Nursing Home Administrator.
What You’ll Do
- Clinical & Resident Care Leadership
- Ensure timely response to resident and staffing needs
- Review daily documentation, clinical orders, labs, and care plans
- Support staff on the floor during peak times or open shifts
- Partner with dietary, activities, transportation, and other departments to deliver holistic resident care
- Quality & Compliance
- Review, analyze, and follow up on Action Q incidents
- Identify and mitigate trends or risk‑management concerns
- Maintain and update policies and ensure alignment with 847+ pages of federal LTC regulations
- Monitor and promote continuous quality improvement
- Department Management
- Oversee scheduling, timecard corrections, and staff coverage
- Collaborate with HR on hiring, interviews, and onboarding
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage employee relations
- Guide and support ADON, Social Services, MDS, Activity Supervisor, Unit Secretary, and CE Nurses
- Ensure budgetary alignment and accurate invoice management
- Leadership & Organizational Support
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of WCHS
- Lead departmental education, trainings, and staff meetings
- Maintain knowledge of LTC regulations and best practices
- Support organization‑wide initiatives related to retention, compliance, and strategic planning
- Foster professional development and a culture of service excellence
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor Manor staff
- Recruit, hire, train, and support team members
- Provide constructive feedback and performance evaluations
- Manage corrective action processes consistent with policy
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (required)
- At least 5 years of nursing management experience OR 7 years of nursing experience
- Strong knowledge of long‑term care operations and regulations
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle complex situations with professionalism and sound judgment
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced care environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HRIS/Talent Management systems quickly
Physical & Environmental Expectations
- Ability to sit for extended periods, use a computer, and move throughout the facility
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Participate in occasional after‑hours calls
- Engage in bending, reaching, handling, and other routine movements required in a care environment
