Overview
WCG Drive is a 14-16 Direct Entry provision opening from September 2026 on the Warwick Trident College campus. We are recruiting a Head of Department – Science to lead the delivery of GCSE Science (Biology, Chemistry & Physics). The role may also involve delivering PE, life skills and PHSE in a dual capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver GCSE Science (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) to students.
- Develop and enhance the Science curriculum together with the Headteacher.
- Maintain outstanding quality and ensure WCG Drive’s aims and objectives are achieved.
- Liaise with the Headteacher to identify potential barriers, devise realistic improvement strategies and implement them effectively.
- Oversee the development of the department with expected growth over the next year.
Qualifications
- Qualified and experienced teacher with a background in science teaching.
- Experience in SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership and staff to support the department’s success.
