WC Smith is seeking an experienced Leasing Consultant with proven work and sales experience to join our team at Shipley Park Apartments in Southeast DC! As a Leasing Consultant, you will maintain a high level of customer service and have excellent communication skills. Leasing Consultants at William C Smith require significant interaction with residents and prospective residents on a regular basis.

Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with a rotating weekend schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome all prospects and residents and provide excellent customer service.
  • Prepare and process rental applications and lease packages, and all other associated paperwork.
  • Tour prospects through model apartments or market ready units.
  • Inspect apartments to ensure move in status.
  • Respond to phone inquiries and provide rental information.
  • Maintain communication with prospects and approved applicants.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as instructed by management.
  • Conduct all leasing activity in strict accordance with affordable housing programs and Fair Housing Guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • At least 2 years residential leasing experience.
  • Previous experience with tax credit or affordable housing programs is required.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong customer service skills are required, along with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Must be detail oriented and meticulous with all documentation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel software).
  • Must have previous experience with property management software.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Weekend availability is required.
  • Must be able to conduct tours on foot, in a variety of weather conditions.
