About our Digital Graduate Trainee Programme

We’re excited to launch our Digital Graduate Trainee programme, new for our 2027 intake. Our Digital Graduate Trainee cohort will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality work across a broad and diverse client base. Working within one of our core client-facing teams (External Audit, Internal Audit, Tax, Business Advisory) this role will deliver data, automation and digital transformation solutions, while studying for a relevant professional qualification with a strong data/ digital emphasis. Our graduate trainees have the opportunity to develop practical experience, build strong analytical and professional skills, and contribute to meaningful work while receiving support and guidance from experienced colleagues.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Digital Graduate Trainee

Role Purpose

The Digital Graduate Trainee supports the delivery of high-quality analytical assignments and client work. This role will; work alongside audit, tax and advisory teams to design and deliver data-led, automated and digitally enabled client solutions; specialise in data analytics, process automation and digital tools that improve service quality, speed and insight for clients; and contribute to the firm’s own digital transformation by building reusable assets and championing better ways of working.

Key Responsibilities

Analytical Delivery

• Assist with the planning and delivery of analytical assignments across a range of clients and sectors.
• Gather, organise and review relevant information and data as part of assignments.
• Undertake quantitative and qualitative analysis to identify trends, patterns, relationships and areas for further investigation.
• Interpret information and develop clear, evidence-based insights to support project objectives.
• Prepare clear and accurate working papers, analysis and supporting documentation.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations and other client deliverables.
• Attend client meetings where required and contribute professionally to discussions with clients and colleagues.
• Work to agreed deadlines and budgets, keeping colleagues informed of progress, queries and any risks to delivery.
• Undertake additional appropriate tasks as directed by Managers or wider team leadership.

Digital Design and Solution Development

• Work on client engagements, translating business questions into data and digital solutions.
• Build and maintain data analytics workflows, dashboards and reports to support management reporting and decision making.
• Develop and configure automations to reduce manual effort in data extraction, reconciliation, reporting and compliance tasks.
• Apply digital design principles to make data outputs and digital tools intuitive and actionable for non- technical users.
• Prototype and iterate digital solutions in collaboration with service line colleagues and clients.
• Contribute to the firm’s digital asset library to scale good practice across the business.
• Support the delivery of a consistent, responsive and high-quality service to clients.

Digital Transformation and Internal Contribution

• Support internal projects to enhance ways of working; standardising tools, improving data pipelines, and embedding automation in routine processes.
• Share knowledge through internal sessions, demos and internal communication of best practice on data, automation and digital tools.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and assess their relevance for client work and the firm’s strategy.

Team Support and Development

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver assignments effectively.
• Take ownership of allocated tasks, seeking support and guidance where needed.
• Share knowledge and good practice with colleagues.
• Contribute to a positive, supportive and accountable working environment.
• Participate in training, professional development and knowledge‑sharing activities.
• Take responsibility for developing analytical, technical and professional knowledge relevant to the role.

Skills and Experience

• Working towards, or holding, an honours degree, with a minimum 2:1 preferred in;
• o Accounting / Finance with a digital / data focus,
• o Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or
• o A related technical degree with strong interest in accounting and client service.
• Demonstrable experience or strong aptitude in at least two of; coding, scripting, data analytics, visualisation, digital design or automation.
• Strong academic background with excellent analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Able to work confidently with information and data, draw conclusions from evidence and present findings clearly.
• Organised and able to manage time effectively across client work, professional development and other responsibilities.
• Comfortable working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Able to demonstrate curiosity, attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• Previous experience within a professional office environment is beneficial but not essential.
