WBC Group (WESTERN BUILDING CONSULTANTS LTD) is a team of Architectural Technologists, Architects, chartered building surveyors and structural engineers offering a full range of services tailored to contractors, developers, and homeowners in the Greater Bristol, Bath South West and South Wales Area. We provide tailored architectural solutions for residential and commercial schemes. WBC won the Bath property awards 2023 employer of the year because of our commitment to professional development. We are a SME with around 30 members of staff and offer a flexible, fun and positive work environment.
Other services include:
Architectural design, party wall surveys, full building surveys, structural engineering, energy assessments, and more. The practice is regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and CIAT, ensuring a high-quality and comprehensive service.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Architectural Technologist or Technical Chartered ARB RIBA Architect. The Designer will be involved in technical drawing, working drawings, architectural drawings, planning and construction drawings. Handling planning and listed building applications. As a multi disciplinary practice we offer a range of training and cross working opportunities for the right candidate. The role is primarily located in the, Bath or Greater Bristol area but offers flexibility for remote work and will involve trips to the Bath/Bristol office. The candidate will posses a strong architectural understanding of technology and building regulations and be able to help drive the standard of technical architecture in the office.
Qualifications
- Architectural Technology knowledge and expertise in developing technical plans
- Architectural conceptual designing
- Technical Drawing and Working Drawings skills
- Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software (REVIT, Sketch Up etc)
- Knowledge of building regulations, planning and construction processes
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Desire to develop conservation skills
- ACIAT or MCIAT or Part II qualified or ARB registered
- Min 3 years post degree experience
