Role overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth for Rehlko through proactive prospecting, relationship-building, and effective promotion of the company’s services. The role focuses on generating new client opportunities, converting prospects into customers, and achieving agreed revenue targets while maintaining high professional standards and accurate CRM reporting.
The Role
- Proactively research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities within an agreed scope and defined geographical areas.
- Recruit new clients through a combination of face-to-face meetings, telephone conversations, email engagement, and networking activity.
- Liaise closely with all internal departments to identify and develop group opportunities and cross‑selling potential.
- Attend networking events, industry forums, and business events to actively promote the WBPS/Rehlko brand and build a strong external presence.
- Build long‑term relationships with clients, framework partners, and project stakeholders.
- Conduct CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions for prospective clients to showcase services and expertise.
- Present face‑to‑face proposals and tailored solutions to prospective clients as required.
- Ensure sales software is fully and accurately updated at all times with prospects, quotations, planned visits, and all sales activity.
- Open quotations for customer enquiries and ensure timely follow‑up.
- Submit monthly sales reports, including pipeline reports, and present these during monthly sales meetings.
- Ensure new customers are fully informed of WBPS/Rehlko terms and conditions.
About You
- Proven experience in a sales or business development role, ideally within engineering, power, utilities, or project‑based environments.
- Minimum of 3 years in a field sales or business development management position.
- Ability to manage a sales pipeline and work to targets.
- Commercially astute, target‑driven, and confident negotiating at all levels.
- Excellent communicator, both in‑person and over digital channels.
- Comfortable working autonomously across a large territory.
- Comfortable using CRM systems (Salesforce experience preferred).
- Full UK driving licence required.
