Heanor Shift Engineer WB Power Services Ltd is recruiting a Shift Engineer to join our team at our Heanor depot, working permanent night shifts on a 4 on / 4 off pattern. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving, family-run business at the forefront of generator hire, sales, and maintenance across the UK. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and supporting our fleet of Rehlko and Kohler generators (20–1500kVA), playing a key role in keeping essential infrastructure running across the region. The Role Perform planned and reactive maintenance on diesel generators. Diagnose faults and carry out breakdown repairs. Work a permanent night shift, 12 hours per shift, on a 4 on / 4 off rota. Occasionally support mobile engineers in the field using a company vehicle. Collaborate with Coordinators to ensure smooth scheduling and handovers. Pick up parts from local suppliers when needed. Maintain accurate job records using our in-house system. Adhere to all company H&S, environmental, and quality standards. What We’re Looking For NVQ Level 3 (or time-served) in a mechanical or electrical discipline. Hands-on experience with generators (20–1500kVA) is highly desirable. Strong fault-finding skills and ability to work independently on nights. Full UK driving licence (max 6 points) – towing experience is a bonus (training available). Confident communicating with team members and working unsupervised. Able to complete risk assessments and follow safe systems of work.
