The Role As a Hire Field Service Engineer, you'll spend most of your time on customer sites, ensuring our hire fleet is installed, maintained, and operating safely and efficiently. You'll support everything from routine servicing and fault finding to temporary power installations and emergency breakdown response. Key Responsibilities Installation, commissioning and decommissioning of hire generators and temporary power equipment. Planned servicing and maintenance of rental generators and associated equipment. Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults both on-site and in the field. Supporting temporary power infrastructure projects, including cabling, fuel systems and distribution equipment. Carrying out load bank testing, mains failure testing and operational checks. Completing pre-hire and post-hire inspections to maintain fleet reliability. Producing accurate service reports and job documentation. Working closely with Hire Desk, Operations and Service teams to deliver excellent customer service. Participating in an on-call rota and responding to emergency call-outs when required.
