Location: Redbank Recovery, 182 Rochdale Road, Collyhurst, Manchester

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, worked on a rota basis. Monday to Friday shifts are split between early shifts (8:00am–4:00pm) and late shifts (12:00pm–8:00pm), with approximately one late shift every four weeks. The role also includes approximately one weekend in every four, with weekend hours of 9:00am–5:00pm, to meet the needs of the service.

Contract Type: Permanent / 37 Hours

Salary: £25,877.80 – £34,240.00

About the Role: As an Intervention Specialist, you'll play a vital role in delivering person-centred, recovery-focused interventions within our supported accommodation service. You'll manage a caseload of residents, carrying out assessments, developing personalised recovery plans and providing ongoing support to help individuals achieve their goals. Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies, you'll ensure residents have access to the services and opportunities they need, while promoting a safe, positive and recovery-focused environment.

This role requires flexibility, as you'll work a rota that includes:

  • Monday to Friday shifts between 8:00am–4:00pm and 12:00pm–8:00pm
  • Fridays may include shifts between 8:00am–7:00pm
  • Approximately one late shift every four weeks
  • Approximately one weekend in every four, with weekend hours of 9:00am–5:00pm

Key Responsibilities: As an Intervention Specialist, you will:

  • Build supportive, professional relationships with residents based on trust, respect and accountability.
  • Complete comprehensive assessments to identify strengths, support needs, risks and recovery goals.
  • Develop, implement and regularly review personalised recovery and support plans.
  • Manage a caseload of residents, providing tailored interventions that promote independence and long-term recovery.
  • Deliver crisis intervention and use de-escalation techniques to respond appropriately during periods of emotional or behavioural distress.
  • Support residents with relapse prevention planning and early intervention strategies.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate recovery groups, life skills workshops and educational sessions.
  • Support residents to develop practical independent living skills, including budgeting, communication, healthy relationships and employment readiness.
  • Connect residents with community services including healthcare, mental health services, education, employment support, benefits advice and other local resources.
  • Work collaboratively with treatment providers, probation services, social care professionals, family members (where appropriate) and other partner agencies.
  • Monitor resident wellbeing through regular welfare checks and promote compliance with house expectations and recovery plans.
  • Support conflict resolution and contribute to a positive, inclusive and recovery-focused community environment.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and confidential records using electronic case management systems.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, training and continuous professional development.
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding procedures, organisational policies and all relevant legislation.

About You: We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people to make positive changes and who can build effective relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.

Essential:

  • Experience supporting people with complex needs, including substance use, homelessness, mental health or related services.
  • Experience managing a caseload and delivering person-centred support.
  • Experience completing assessments, support planning and risk management.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits or community support services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this qualification.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within supported accommodation or residential recovery services.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System, including MAPPA processes.
  • Experience facilitating groups or delivering structured recovery interventions.
