About the Role:

We’re looking for an Engagement Worker to join The Greens, our 19-bed abstinence-based supported housing project in Sheffield. The Greens provides a safe, structured and inclusive environment where people can focus on their recovery journey and work towards greater independence.

In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll lead on developing opportunities that maximise client engagement both within the service and across the wider recovery community. You’ll coordinate activities, facilitate group sessions, organise events, and help individuals access volunteering and community-based opportunities that support their ongoing recovery.

You’ll also play a key role in increasing the visibility of the service locally and nationally by building relationships with community groups, businesses, recovery organisations and stakeholders. Alongside this, you’ll support fundraising activity by identifying grant opportunities, securing donations, and helping develop projects that enhance the service offer for residents.

Working closely with the wider team, you’ll contribute to a positive and recovery-focused environment while supporting clients to become more connected, confident, and involved in their communities.

No two days are the same. One day you may be facilitating a recovery-focused activity group, and the next you could be attending a local partnership event, developing community links, or coordinating a fundraising initiative to improve opportunities for residents.

About You:

You’ll be enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about supporting people in recovery. You’ll enjoy building relationships, creating opportunities for engagement, and working collaboratively with both clients and external partners.

  • Have experience within health and social care, such as substance misuse, mental health, housing, or related services
  • Have experience coordinating activities, events, or engagement opportunities
  • Have experience of fundraising and/or grant funding applications
  • Be confident building relationships with professionals, stakeholders, businesses and community groups
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Be highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Be confident using Microsoft Office programmes including Outlook
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a wider team

Relevant qualifications within health and social care or activity coordination would be advantageous. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
