This is more than just a job; it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the role: You will be an integral member of the Alcohol Care Team, which provides a programme of interventions and connects individuals into other services and settings for service users with alcohol misuse issues in a hospital environment.

What you'll do:

  • The post holder will deliver and contribute to the development of an innovative recovery programme which will offer a range of support to address what matters to the client (e.g., housing, benefits, welfare). • Make timely and appropriate referrals to community treatment providers, recovery services, and voluntary organisations, supporting engagement where required.
  • Advocate on behalf of service users while also empowering them to make informed decisions and work towards greater independence.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies to broaden support options available to service users.
  • Build trusting, therapeutic relationships with individuals who may be reluctant or difficult to engage, maintaining contact.
  • Participate in supervision, training, reflective practice, and continuous professional development.

What you'll need to succeed in the role:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or above or equivalent) or willing to work towards this in post.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., addiction studies, counselling, social work, therapeutic qualification) (desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes.
  • Understanding of and ability to implement interventions, including brief interventions MI, PSIs, CBT, and ITEP.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to substance misuse (where relevant to post) (desirable).

What We Offer: We value the people who make a difference every day. Alongside meaningful work, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive benefits package:

  • 27 days annual leave, rising to 32 after 1 year (plus bank holidays).
  • Pension scheme with 4.5% employer contribution, matched up to 6.5%.
  • Life assurance (3 annual salary).
