Join Waythrough at Box Tree Farm as a Recovery Worker, supporting adults experiencing mental health crises within a recovery-focused environment. Box Tree Farm is a 24‑hour Crisis House service operating 365 days a year, providing support to individuals aged 18 and over. This role is centred around helping people regain independence, confidence, and stability during difficult periods in their lives. Working as part of a rota‑based team, you will provide compassionate and person‑centred support while helping individuals work towards their personal recovery goals.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals experiencing mental health crises within a safe and recovery‑focused environment.
  • Help people maintain their independence and develop practical life skills.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals to create personalised support and recovery plans.
  • Encourage and support access to education, employment, leisure, and community opportunities.
  • Assist with developing domestic, budgeting, and tenancy management skills.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with people using the service.
  • Work both independently and as part of a wider support team.
  • Participate in a rota system, including evenings, weekends, and on‑call duties where required.
  • Contribute to creating a supportive, respectful, and empowering environment for recovery.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all backgrounds.
  • Someone who thrives under pressure and can remain calm and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Flexible team player who can also work independently when needed.
  • A positive and recovery‑focused mindset.
  • Enthusiasm for supporting people to live as independently as possible.
  • An understanding of mental health issues and/or lived experience (training will be provided).
  • Commitment to working within a rota system, including flexibility for shift work and on‑call duties.
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and contribute to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
