The incumbent will provide support to customers using CAT power equipment in the region and will develop the skills of local in-country technical staff.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Technical support: Carries out system installation & troubleshooting, in the field on customers' sites and equipment.
- New machine assembly: Plans and assists in commissioning after assembly of machines generating sets and switchgear on customers' sites in remote locations and follows handover processes to service department.
- Warranty: Assists service department with controls and administers site warranty.
- Manages Repair and Maintenance Contracts.
- Provides training as required.
- Electrical engineering degree or City and Guilds electrical engineer – apprenticeship qualification. At least ‘O’ / ‘A’ levels passes in Maths, Physics and English.
- Experienced with carrying out troubleshooting and repair of modern power generation equipment in the field, including medium and low voltage systems, control and monitoring equipment, including synchronising, load sharing, speed and load control systems.
- Running training courses both theoretically and hands-on in the field. CAT equipment experience will be preferred.
