We have partnered with an international group to recruit for this newly created position. This important role will be responsible for the review of all Commercial Proposals to ensure value proposition is well demonstrated to the customer to achieve PINS and top line profitable growth across the Mining Business Units. With a clear focus on managing the entire deal commercials including Supplier Pricing, Shipping Cost, Product Support Provisions and Profitability. In addition, the role will drive the Mining Prime Product Sales Pipeline to achieve 100% Participation and timely response to all tenders.
CORE TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review all tenders on time and efficiently, ensuring terms not limited to Inco terms, Payment Terms, Payment Guarantees and Currency Hedging are optimised.
- Ensure Supplier Support (OTO, CAP, Focus Programs), Profitability, Estimates/Provisions to be made to cover all foreseen costs for the delivery and support of the equipment over the agreed period.
- Ensure all quotes and invoices are approved, signed and sent correctly to comply with legal and tax requirements.
- Responsible to drive the team to minimise customer debt and satisfactory accepted payment plans.
- Liaise and communicate with OEM, Suppliers, Business Support Team and Logistics to obtain necessary dates, pricing, shipping and customer information to improve the overall customer experience.
- Prepare, together with relevant Director, forecasts and budgets for both OEM and company on an ongoing basis.
- Liaise closely with Service Department for equipment support packages and fleet support CSA/MARC’s and to demonstrate TCO’s as part of Tender.
- Work with relevant Director and OEM global Mining representatives in developing strategies for value selling of both products and services.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on the mining business including PINS, Sales, Remaining Estimates, GP’s, Stock, ITR & Sales Pipeline.
- Ensure Marketing Division are supplied with regular updates and competitor information – lost and won sales and new stories.
- Ensure seamless integration of New Oracle ERP, minimising impact to customer and execution of day-to-day business.
- Hold monthly Opportunity Pipeline Reviews with Sales Managers and OEM to ensure 100% participation and opportunity management.
- Run weekly and monthly meetings focusing on equipment coming out of factory to ensure correct agreement assignment and shipping instructions and invoicing meeting with various departments ensuring all parties are aligned.
- Working with Credit Control, Treasury and Cat Finance to forecast and obtain necessary financing solutions for deals.
- Work with the team to develop comprehensive Fleet Optimisation Proposal for customers based on Material Movement Schedule and Mine Design, ensuring all aspects of TCO are included in the recommendations.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- VERY IMPORTANT: Degree in Mining Engineering – not negotiable.
- Business management certification (MBA, etc.) will be preferred.
- Experienced with Large Mining Equipment sales.
- Proven commercial background focusing on Profitability and market growth.
- Mining / Mechanical engineer AND background in large construction / mining products.
- Current or Previous Mining Equipment dealership experience.
- Knowledge of Mining Product Support and Equipment Maintenance.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Commercial Acumen and creativity to demonstrate required solution and value to customer.
- Ability to sell a premium priced product against aggressive competition based on total cost of ownership.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Able to work under own initiative.
- Ability to build relationships at senior level and influence, provide solutions.
- Able to interact well at all levels both internally and externally.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to prioritise.
