We are seeking a supportive Drama Teacher to join a flourishing Secondary School based in Sevenoaks, Kent starting January. The successful candidate will be passionate about education and have a proven track record of delivering excellent teaching in a Drama setting. Aside from that, the successful Drama Teacher will work collaboratively with the school team to ensure all students receive a positive and engaging learning experience.
Drama Teacher Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver exciting and engaging lessons that challenge and inspire Drama students to reach their full potential
- Monitor and assess students' progress and keep regular records of Drama students’ academic performance
- Create a positive learning environment that is both safe and conducive for learning
- Collaborate with school management, teaching staff and parents to provide quality academic support for Drama students
- Prepare and participate in school-related activities such as performances, events, and parent/teacher meetings
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students
- Use a variety of effective classroom management strategies to ensure an orderly and safe learning environment
Drama Teacher Requirements:
- Drama teacher experience
- QTS or equivalent
- A recognised qualification in teaching, preferably a Bachelor's degree in Education or any relevant field
- Proven experience in teaching Drama in a mainstream secondary school
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate learners
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students
- Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and its application in class
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to facilitate different learning styles
- A passion for teaching and making a difference in students' lives.
