Experienced SENCo sought for a reputable secondary school in Merton. Our client, a highly regarded secondary school located in the London Borough of Merton, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their team in September on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

  • Leading and managing the school's SEN team.
  • Developing and implementing SEN policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEN.
  • Liaising with parents, external agencies, and other professionals.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the school's SEN provision.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • The National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCo) or a willingness to undertake this qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
  • A deep understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
