Our client, a highly regarded secondary school located in the London Borough of Merton, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their team in September on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role
- Leading and managing the school's SEN team.
- Developing and implementing SEN policies and procedures.
- Coordinating the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEN.
- Liaising with parents, external agencies, and other professionals.
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the school's SEN provision.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
- The National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCo) or a willingness to undertake this qualification.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a secondary school setting.
- A deep understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
