This fulltime role involves providing oneonone assistance to help children access the curriculum and develop their communication skills through tailored learning plans. The school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work closely with children who have speech and language difficulties offering targeted support and contributing to their overall learning and development. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that these students can participate fully in classroom activities and reach their full potential. Responsibilities: Provide oneonone and small group support to students with speech and language difficulties helping them engage with classroom activities and learning tasks. Assist in implementing tailored learning plans designed to address the specific communication needs of students. Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt resources and strategies that support speech and language development. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and SEN staff on a regular basis. Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment helping students build their confidence in communication and social interactions. Assist in managing any behavioural challenges related to communication difficulties using appropriate intervention strategies. Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience working with children with speech and language difficulties is highly desirable. Knowledge or experience in speech and language therapy or related interventions is a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers and SEN staff. Patience empathy and a commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning. A clear DBS check. Legal right to work in the UK.
