We are looking for a Year 1 teacher based in the heart of Richmond! This is an opportunity to work within a Good primary school in Richmond, Southwest London. The school is looking to appoint a class teacher who will enjoy teaching an academic yet creative, topic-based curriculum in a school with exceptional pastoral care. This is an exciting opportunity for you to work in a supportive environment with brilliant facilities and resources. The successful Year 1 Teacher will join a supportive and excellent team of staff.

The School: This is a great one-form entry school in Richmond. It is easily accessible by public transport and seeking to appoint a qualified Primary teacher from September 2024. Year 1 Teacher responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver stimulating and engaging lessons that inspire and challenge Year 1 students
  • Plan and organise schemes of work in line with the school's curriculum and national standards
  • Assess and evaluate Year 1 student progress using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies
  • Provide regular feedback to Year 1 students, parents and colleagues on student progress
  • Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers and other professionals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver outstanding teaching and learning experiences

Year 1 Teacher requirements:

  • QTS, PGCE and strong academic record
  • Creative, imaginative, determined, resourceful and adaptable practitioner
  • Passionate about learning
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of success within a Year 1 environment
  • Able to communicate your passion to children and parents
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom
