About the Role

This temporary position will run until July 2025, with the possibility of a permanent role from September 2025. As a Year 6 teacher, you will play a key role in ensuring the children’s academic success, particularly in preparation for their transition to secondary school. You will inspire curiosity, encourage independent learning, and foster a love of learning in your students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative, engaging lessons that inspire and challenge Year 6 pupils.
  • Prepare students for key assessments and their transition to secondary school.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports individual development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and support school initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed of student progress.

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience teaching Year 6 (or equivalent) in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation.
  • A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
