We are delighted to partner with a progressive secondary school in Manchester, committed to providing an inclusive learning environment for all students. We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to join their team in a full-time, permanent position starting this September.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the school's provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This involves strategic planning, collaboration, and a passion for ensuring every student receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the school's SEND policy and provision.
  • Lead and manage the SEND team, ensuring effective support for students with SEND.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision for students with SEND.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Contribute to the school's overall development and improvement of inclusive practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proven experience in a SEND leadership or coordination role within a mainstream school setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
