About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists and promote a love of scientific exploration. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating Science lessons across the curriculum, catering to all Key Stages (Years 7-11).
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating Science lessons, fostering a love of science and scientific inquiry in students. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students develop a strong foundation in scientific concepts and practical skills. Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills through scientific investigations and experiments. Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations (if applicable).
- Practical Learning: Ensure a safe and effective learning environment in the science labs. Effectively demonstrate and guide students through scientific experiments and practical activities. Foster a love of scientific discovery through hands-on learning opportunities.
- Student Progress: Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their learning goals in Science. Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.
The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Science Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience. A strong passion for science and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement. Excellent subject knowledge across the sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and the ability to keep up-to-date with scientific developments. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and interactive lessons that incorporate practical activities. A commitment to high standards and creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
