A high-achieving secondary school in Southwark seeks a skilled and motivated IT Technician to join its dynamic IT department. We offer a supportive and collaborative working environment, where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing development of our school's IT infrastructure.
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of technical tasks, including:
- Hardware and Software Support: Installation, configuration, and maintenance of a range of IT equipment, including computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and network devices. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues faced by staff and students.
- Network Management: Maintaining the school's network infrastructure, ensuring its efficiency, security, and uptime. Implementing network security measures and monitoring network activity.
- User Support: Providing technical support to staff and students, responding to their queries and resolving IT-related problems. Maintaining user accounts and ensuring access to authorized applications and resources.
- Software Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining a variety of educational software programs used within the school environment. Assisting staff with integrating technology effectively into their teaching practices.
- Maintaining IT Policies: Ensuring adherence to the school's IT policies and procedures. Promoting responsible and safe use of technology by staff and students.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified IT Technician with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and network technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
