Position Overview: The successful candidate will be instrumental in empowering students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the principles of physics and general science within an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and IB Diploma Programme (DP) Physics and General Science curriculum to students in Grades 6 to 12.
  • Design and implement engaging and challenging lessons that promote scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
  • Prepare and mark a wide range of assessments following MYP and DP protocols.
  • Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of students.
  • Utilize a range of student-centered teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Embed IB 'Approaches to Learning' in the curriculum delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Chair of Science and other faculty members to establish interdisciplinary links.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and teaching methodologies.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Physics or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • International Baccalaureate curriculum experience.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English.

  • Full knowledge of Physics and General Science subject matter and the latest developments in these fields.
