About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational leader to join our Physical Education department as the Joint Head of Girls' and Boys' PE. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of physical education within a thriving school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Vision: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the PE program, aligning with the school's overall vision and educational goals. Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, challenging, and promotes lifelong participation in physical activity for all students. Ensure the PE program complies with national curriculum requirements and incorporates innovative teaching methods.
  • Teaching and Learning: Lead by example, teaching high-quality PE lessons that foster a love of sport and physical activity amongst students of all abilities. Oversee the work of PE teachers within the department, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the PE program, implementing improvements based on data analysis.
  • Relationships and Wellbeing: Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the PE program. Promote the importance of physical and mental well-being amongst students, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. Champion equal opportunities for all students to participate and excel in PE and sports.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Oversee and develop a range of extracurricular sports clubs and activities for students, catering to diverse interests and abilities. Encourage participation in interschool competitions and external sporting events, providing guidance and support to student athletes.
  • School Community: Collaborate effectively with other departments within the school to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events and initiatives.
