About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of historians within a supportive and collaborative department. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating History lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3/4/5.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating History lessons, fostering a love of the subject and historical understanding. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential. Integrate innovative teaching strategies and resources to enhance student engagement. Effectively prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
- Student Progress: Track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to ensure students achieve their academic goals. Utilize a variety of assessment strategies to inform teaching and learning.
- Enrichment Activities: Contribute to and potentially lead enrichment activities related to History (e.g., history clubs, guest lectures, educational trips). Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore their historical interests beyond the curriculum.
The Ideal Candidate: A qualified History Teacher with a minimum of 2 years' successful teaching experience (ECT's Welcome). A strong passion for History and a demonstrable track record of raising student achievement. Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to keep up-to-date with current historical developments and teaching methods. Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver engaging and interactive lessons. A commitment to high standards and creating a positive and supportive learning environment. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
