Responsibilities of a Year 5 teacher:

  • As a Year 5 teacher you will be responsible for the pastoral care of children taking their first steps in Key Stage 2, promoting teamwork, and cultivating a conducive learning environment.
  • Teaching the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children while also focusing on each individual child's learning targets, encouraging their strengths, and improving their weaknesses.

  • Keeping track of children's progress and occasionally reporting back to parents.

Year 5 Teacher requirements:

  • QTS, PGCE and strong academic record
  • Creative, imaginative, determined, resourceful and adaptable practitioner

  • Able to demonstrate a track record of success within a Year 5 environment
  • Able to communicate your passion to children and parents
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom
