We are delighted to partner with an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated secondary school in Crawley in their search for a dedicated and experienced SENCo. This full-time, permanent position offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the provision of special educational needs support within a thriving and inclusive learning environment.

Position Summary

As the school's SENCo, you will play a pivotal role in championing the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to ensure all students receive the support they require to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership and management of the school's SEND provision.
  • Overseeing the identification, assessment, and support of students with SEND.
  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
  • Liaising with external agencies and professionals to ensure a holistic approach to SEND support.
  • Leading and developing a team of dedicated SEN support staff.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEND provision and making recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Proven experience in a SENCo role or a similar leadership position within SEND provision.
  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • A passion for inclusive education and a commitment to empowering students with SEND.
