We are currently recruiting for a SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) role at a thriving primary school in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity, especially for someone with a passion for SEN and leadership in education. Role Overview:

  • Position: SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)
  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time (32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
  • Salary: Teachers’ Pay Scale + SEN1 + TLR
  • Location: Surrey, easily accessible by public transport

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the SEN provision, including handling EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
  • Conducting 1:1 assessments of children and managing the administrative aspects of the role.
  • Leading and developing SEN policies and practices in line with the school’s strategic objectives.
  • Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and contributing to the school’s SEN strategy.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an educational degree. NASENCO qualification is desirable, but a strong desire to obtain it could also be considered.
  • Experience: Extensive experience with Special Educational Needs.
  • Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. A deep understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and the Primary Curriculum.
