About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to take a leading role in the promotion of a safe and supportive environment for all pupils and staff. This is a crucial position at the heart of our school s safeguarding culture and pastoral provision.
Key Responsibilities

Lead on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection across the school, in accordance with statutory guidance.

Manage and oversee all safeguarding referrals and concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.

Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding issues, liaising with external agencies such as social care, the police, and health services.

Deliver safeguarding training and updates to staff, ensuring the school s compliance with current legislation.

Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure policies and procedures are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed.

Work closely with the senior leadership team to embed safeguarding into the wider school culture.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Hold a relevant safeguarding qualification and have significant experience in a child protection or pastoral role, ideally within a school setting.

Have an in-depth knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and related safeguarding legislation.

Demonstrate strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

Have experience working with vulnerable children and multi-agency partners.

Be approachable, trustworthy, and able to manage sensitive information with discretion.
