Waylands is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our growing team as a Used Car Controller at our new Kia dealership in Oxford. If you are passionate about the automotive industry and have a keen eye for detail, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As the Used Car Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing our used car inventory, optimizing sales, and ensuring our customers have a positive experience throughout the process.
Duties
- Overseeing the entire used car inventory, including acquisitions, pricing, and merchandising, both online and on our forecourts.
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure a diverse and appealing selection of used vehicles.
- Conducting thorough appraisals of trade-ins and used cars, taking into account market trends, vehicle conditions, and other relevant factors.
- Determine competitive and attractive pricing for each vehicle.
- Collaborating with the service department to ensure used vehicles undergo necessary reconditioning and repairs, maintaining quality standards for our customers.
- Developing and executing effective marketing strategies to promote used car sales, both online and offline.
- Assisting the sales team with product knowledge, pricing, and availability information for used vehicles.
- Providing guidance on negotiation strategies and maximising every sale opportunity.
- Working with the sales team to ensure every used enquiry is dealt with in accordance with our contact strategy.
- Ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurately completed and filed in compliance with legal regulations.
- Communicating and developing strong personal relationships with customers to maintain their continued loyalty.
About You
- Proven experience in automotive sales, used car management, or a related role.
- In-depth knowledge of the used car market, including pricing trends and popular models.
- Strong negotiation and sales skills, with a customer-oriented approach.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to assess vehicle conditions accurately.
- Proficiency in using automotive software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Full driving licence.
Salary, Hours and Benefits
- Mon-Fri 08:30-18:00, Saturday 08:30-17:00 with day off in lieu and Sundays on a rota basis.
- £28,000 basic salary (OTE £55k).
- 31 days holiday per year (including Bank Holidays; some of which you will be required to cover).
