Role Purpose

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing strategies to drive increased enquiry, increase revenue, and maximise marketing ROI across an assigned portfolio of brands. The post holder is entrusted with the development and execution of multi‑channel marketing strategies across multiple platforms including the development of campaign objectives, campaign activity briefing, campaign management and performance reporting. Furthermore, the role will work closely with the Marketing Director and Group Marketing Manager, and the wider operational team, to ensure that tactical marketing plans align with overall business objectives and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead in the execution and tracking of marketing initiatives across the full range of media, including (but not limited to) paid search, SEO, OOH, digital marketing, social media and PR.
  • To own the creation, development and management of our brand marketing plans, aligned with their national marketing activity.
  • To identify, anticipate and plan to satisfy customer needs in order to deliver increased revenue and profitability.
  • To communicate and co‑ordinate with internal stakeholders regarding marketing campaigns for the assigned brands, to ensure successful and optimal execution.
  • To deliver competitive insights to the operational teams to help inform competitive positioning and tactical offer development.
  • To ensure compliance with manufacturer and Group CI guidelines, quarterly manufacturer marketing mandates, as well as financial promotions guidelines in all of our marketing activity.
  • To implement robust tracking and provide regular reporting on key metrics such as impressions, enquiries, conversions, and ROI.
  • To collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to ensure that our tactical marketing activity is aligned with our wider business and marketing objectives.
  • To identify and suggest new emerging platforms and avenues for digital outreach.
  • To provide insight to the wider marketing and leadership teams to inform decision making.
  • To coach, develop and support one Marketing Executive working across a shared brand portfolio.
  • To stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in marketing.

About You

  • Previous involvement with creating content in highly regulated industries
  • Working knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations
  • Experience of managing and developing a team
  • Experience within the motor trade
  • Proven experience of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good planning and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Works well within a team and independently

Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in Business Studies or a Marketing discipline.
  • A CIM Level 6 or equivalent Marketing qualification.
