Waylands is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Used Car Controller at our Volvo dealership in Havant. This role is essential for managing used car inventory, optimizing sales and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Duties

  • Oversee the used car inventory, including acquisitions, pricing, and merchandising, both online and on forecourts.
  • Conduct thorough appraisals of trade-ins and used cars, determining competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with the service department to ensure reconditioning and repairs meet quality standards.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote used car sales online and offline.
  • Assist the sales team with product knowledge, pricing, availability, and negotiation guidance.
  • Handle used car enquiries according to the contact strategy.
  • Ensure all paperwork is accurately completed and filed in compliance with legal regulations.
  • Build strong personal relationships with customers to maintain loyalty.

About You

  • Proven experience in automotive sales, used car management, or a related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the used car market, pricing trends and popular models.
  • Strong negotiation and sales skills, with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to assess vehicle conditions accurately.
  • Proficiency in using automotive software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Full driving licence.

Salary, Hours and Benefits

  • Mon-Fri 08:00-18:00, Saturday 08:30-17:00 with day off in lieu and Sundays on a rota basis.
  • £30,000 basic salary with an OTE of up to £55k.
  • 31 days holiday per year (including bank holidays; some covering required).
