Background to the Appointment

Wayland Additive Limited is a West-Yorkshire based company pushing the boundaries of electron beam 3D metal printing. Wayland’s goal is to develop, manufacture and sell metal Additive Manufacturing (“AM” – 3D printing) machines to industrial end-users such as major players in the aerospace and medical industries. These machines are technically high complex with many components and a sales value in excess of £1m each.

Wayland’s technology is based around highly sophisticated evolutions from the worlds of scanning electron microscopy and electron beam lithography.
