Your Role at a Glance
- Identify, validate and incubate one or more new growth opportunities (business models, verticals, services) aligned to the strategic pillars.
- Work with minimal structure and ambiguity: define the problem space, design hypotheses, run experiments, build prototypes and iterate rapidly.
- Own the vision, roadmap, business case and go-to-market for the new initiative.
- Mobilise cross-functional stakeholders (data, engineering, design, partnerships, underwriting) to operate as independently as possible.
- Track and report clear metrics for success: adoption, revenue, margin, time to launch, scale efficiency.
- At the end of the incubation phase, propose the right integration path into the wider ecosystem.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Entrepreneurial experience: you’ve founded, co-founded or led a high-growth product/venture within a fast-moving company (preferably fintech/financial services or commerce‑adjacent).
- Excellent at working in ambiguity and figuring things out: you’re comfortable without a deep spec, you can set direction, test, learn, pivot.
- Strong strategic mindset: you can connect market trends, data signals and business models to identify high‑leverage opportunities.
- Product intuition + business acumen: you can design compelling value propositions, understand monetisation, pricing, unit economics, competitive positioning.
- Stakeholder and team builder: you can pull together a founding team, influence senior leadership, communicate vision.
- A bias for experimentation: you’ve run user research, A/B tests, MVPs, prototypes, rapid learning cycles.
- Fluency in data: you define and track key metrics, draw insights, make decisions.
- (Bonus) Experience in banking or merchant finance, marketplace or commerce ecosystems.
What You’ll Get
- A high‑visibility role with strategic mandate and autonomy.
- Access to Wayflyer’s platform, data, merchant ecosystem and capital.
- Opportunity to build from zero to scale – with potential to become the lead of the new business unit.
- Competitive compensation + equity participation.
- A high‑calibre founding team + senior leadership support in an organisation committed to innovation.
You’ll be based in Amsterdam, London, Dublin (or remote in Europe) and will report into the VP Product. We’ll define a 90‑day plan with clear milestones: problem definition, hypothesis testing, prototype validation. After the incubation stage (6‑12 months) we’ll hold a "venture review" to decide next‑stage scaling. You’ll engage regularly with senior leadership and the core product, engineering and data teams.
What to Expect After You Apply
